Why would I ever Use Twitter?!

Saw a great blog post today on Twitter. I admit that I could have written the first paragraph myself!
I have a Twitter account, and I've "tweeted" a few times regarding what I'm doing, but since I don't follow anyone, and no one is following me, it hasn't become a common habit. This post with it's resources may get me to do more and see the benefits and how it might work in your classrooms.
Do any of you use Twitter?

Since this post, I've started following some of my "heros" and consider it my personal learning network. Occasionally, some of the posts are about someone's golf game, or what they had for dinner, but that just gives people more personality! Start following me, micwalker, and I'll follow you too!

TIES 2012: Kathryn Smith: Innovative Spaces Support 21st Century Learning

Kathryn Smith , former Bemidji State professor, presented on Innovative Spaces Support 21st Century Learning. Her presentation slides can be found here . Today, learning can happen anywhere, anytime, and on any device.  She started by using PollEverywhere to ask about the status of mobile technologies and school learning environments. She thinks that the TPACK model is a good one to use when implementing professional development around 21st Century learning. We are using this model in our BYOD professional development. Smith notes that the National Educational Technology Plan , is a great road map for change. Research has shown that the appropriate use of technology and the appropriate design of learning spaces is having a significant positive impact on learning.
